- Account information: your first and last name, email address, and password (hashed)
- Profile information: business name, description, location, category, contact details, and any photos you upload
- Billing information: payment method details processed and stored securely by Stripe — we never store full card numbers
- Usage data: pages visited, searches performed, profile views, and contact link clicks
- Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, and operating system
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and business profile
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Display your profile to potential customers searching the platform
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, support replies)
- Show you analytics about your profile performance on your dashboard
- Improve the platform and diagnose technical issues
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Stripe — to process payments
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider
- Vercel — our hosting provider
- Law enforcement — when required by law or to protect the safety of users
Your public profile information (business name, description, location, contact links) is visible to anyone browsing Lokals.
4. Cookies and Tracking
Lokals uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to understand how the platform is used. We use session cookies (required for the app to function) and analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information will be removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of non-transactional emails at any time

7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Lokals is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete that information promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the current version took effect.
